LAWN PEST CONTROL – STOP LAWN DAMAGE FROM INSECTS & DISEASE
Lawn pest control needs are often confused or even wrongly diagnosed as lawn diseases. For example, chinch bugs damage can be mistakenly diagnosed as fungus or vice versa. With either chinch bugs or fungus misdiagnosing and applying the wrong treatment allows damaging insects to continue their attack on your lawn.
If you’re noticing brown patches in your lawn or thinning of ordinarily thick and healthy lawns, our year-round lawn pest control treatments take the worry of lawn insect control off your mind. Designed specifically for Southwest Florida lawns, our tailored treatment plans deliver just what your lawn needs to grow healthy, strong, and green.
HOW OUR LAWN PEST CONTROL TREATMENTS CAN HELP!
As always, a healthy and vibrant lawn being cared for with responsible best practices is the very best defense against any sort of diseases or insects. Left unchecked lawn insects can do a lot of damage quickly. The longer they’re allowed to stick around, the harder it is going to be to get rid of them.
Understanding and identifying damaging insects and what draws them to your lawn is a great starting defense keeping your lawn pest free. While there are over a dozen insects that could potentially attack your lawn, there are four that make up the majority of all pest-related lawn issues we find daily in almost every Southwest Florida Lawn.
Chinch bugs suck the sap from your grass and inject a toxin that prevents transporting water, killing your grass. They like bright sunlight and to attack grass on the edges of sidewalks and driveways. Look for signs appearing to be drought, wilting, yellow-brown, drying or dying grass.
Lawn grubs, often called white grubs are the larval stage of June bugs, Japanese Beetles & others. These beetles lay their eggs in the soil and one year later begin to hatch as adults. The adults feed on your grass roots causing sections of your grass to die.
Mole crickets can be anywhere from 1/8” to 2” long depending on their maturity. As burrowers, they tend to damage the grass roots while feeding when they are younger, and then harm the soil as they get larger. Damage includes dry or dead patches of grass.
Several species of sod webworms or “lawn moths” commonly infest lawns. Not really worms, sod webworms are the larval stage of lawn moths. Most common June to early August, these lawn pests damage to grass and create brown patches.
WHY YEAR-ROUND LAWN PEST CONTROL IS IMPORTANT
Southwest Florida’s weather encourages lawn growth throughout the year. As our seasons change so does the attack of different harmful insects because different insects become more active at different times of the year. To the average homeowner, some lawn browning might be confused and treated as a lawn insect when the browning is damage from a fast-growing disease.
So why not help your lawn become gorgeous, healthy and lush? It really doesn’t take much to turn your yard into the envy of the neighborhood. Yes, you can try to diagnose the difference between chinch bugs and lawn fungus. And yes, you can run to the local big box store to buy different “do-it-yourself” products and then apply these products. But what if you’re not correctly diagnosing or treating your lawn’s needs? What if you’re not saving that much money compared to having an educated and trained lawn care specialist to give your lawn the extra care it needs.
